Discover how to adjust the aspect ratio and rotation of your Power BI report in this informative article.
In Power BI, adjusting the canvas size and aspect ratio to custom dimensions involves a few steps:
- Log into Power BI and select the Report you want to edit.
Changes can be done in the report view, which is where you edit, design, and arrange your Power BI reports. - Select and open Visualizations Settings on the right-hand side.
- Change Page Size:
- In the report view, go to the "Format" panel.
- Within this panel, there's an option for "Page size".
- Under the "Type" dropdown, you may see options like 16:9, 4:3, and others. Select "Custom"
from this list.
- Once you select the "Custom" option, fields for "Width" and "Height" in inches or pixels will appear.
- Enter your desired dimensions for the report canvas in these fields. We recommend 1920x1080 for landscape displays and 1080x1920 for portrait displays.
Adjusting the View:
- You can zoom in and out of the canvas to better view and design your report.
- Use the zoom options usually found at the bottom right of the Power BI interface.
- After setting your canvas size, you can start placing and resizing your visuals to fit the new canvas dimensions.
- It’s important to make sure that all visuals are well arranged and visible in the new layout.
- Remember that changing the aspect ratio or size might affect how your report looks on different devices or when published online.
- It's good practice to check how your report appears in the Power BI service after adjusting the canvas size and aspect ratio.
