How to prioritize content with Override in DatabeatOMNI

Override is a feature that enables users to strategically prioritize and momentarily suspend content from different playblocks, providing a simple and effective way to broadcast prioritized content.

Override Preview in DBO

TL;DR: If there is any active media in an Override Playblock, it will pause all other content immediately. Once the media in the Override Playblock expires or becomes inactive, everything will return to normal.

Override is currently available for use on Android and OMNIcast. Our team is actively working on expanding support to include Samsung and LG devices in the near future.

Understanding the Basics: What is a Playblock?

Before we delve into the intricacies of Override, let's revisit the foundation - the Playblock. As outlined in DatatabeatOMNI's existing features, a playblock serves as a fundamental unit of content organization. It allows users to structure their content scheduling by grouping specific media assets. Each playblock represents a thematic collection of content, providing a structured approach to broadcasting.

Prioritize content with Override

Override enhances the concept of playblocks by introducing a dynamic layer of control. With the Override feature, users can prioritize content within a specific Playblock while temporarily temporarily halting content from other playblocks. This functionality provides users with more flexibility and customization options for their content scheduling.

Share and follow

Since this feature is based on the playblock structure, you can share and follow your Override-playblock with multiple channels.

How to enable Override

This feature will stop all content from other playblocks to prioritize files from the playblock with the override setting. It requires OMNIplay Pro to setup.

1. Locate your channel in DatabeatOMNI.

2. Select Settings for your channel.

3. Edit an existing playblock or create a new.

4. Select Share playblock property and enable Override.

Playblock Properties

If you are playing a channel with a playblock that has the override setting enabled, only content from that playblock will be displayed on your players. However, this will only happen if there is at least one active file in the override playblock. If the override playblock is empty, the content from other default playblocks will be reactivated and played again.

The preview feature from DatabeatOMNI will play all content regardless of Override.
