Useful Android Keyboard Shortcuts

This knowledge article provides a list of useful Android keyboard shortcuts that can be useful when configuring an Android Media Player device with a connected keyboard or controlling your Android remotely.

Notes: The effectiveness of these shortcuts may differ across applications and hardware. All shortcuts are verified on Databeat OMNIplay3 and OMNIplay4.
(If you have any other Android-based media player the shortcuts for the OMNIplay app will work, but others may differ and we recommend checking with the manufacturer)

Databeat OMNIplay App:

  • Arrow up, Arrow down: Reset Configuration / Change License key (If configured)
  • Arrow Left: Open Android settings
  • Arrow right: Launch browser
  • 0: Reset Configuration / Change License key (If configured)
  • 1: Player Info.
  • 3: Media Plan
  • B: Browser
  • C: Channel List
  • H: Help
  • I: Info Screen
  • O: Reset Configuration / Change License key (If configured)
  • S: Open Android settings

General Shortcuts:

  • Space: Select (to select/enter when no mouse is available)
  • Tab: Next (to move around when no mouse is available)
  • Shift + Tab: Previous (to move around when no mouse is available)
  • Hold TabWindows-button + N: Display notifications
  • Windows-button + P: Access settings or Launch Music Player
  • Windows-button + B: Launch Browser
  • FN + ESC: Standby / On
  • Windows + B: Launch browser
  • Esc: Go back (or close on-screen keyboard if open)
  • Home: Open Android settings
  • Ctrl + C: Copy
  • Ctrl + V: Paste
  • Ctrl + X: Cut
  • Shift + ESC: Show and cycle through apps
  • Hold ALT + TAB: Show and cycle through apps
  • Hold ALT + Shift + TAB: Cycle through apps in reverse order 

Browser Shortcuts:

  • CTRL + N: New tab (helps you enter URL)
  • Ctrl + W: Close current tab
